Starting in the middle of winter, the GWCSA opens up membership for the upcoming growing season, and sometime after the New Year’s holidays the core group starts hosting sign up/info events at different locations around the neighborhood. During the winter, the farmers have calculated their next crop size, factoring in growth possibilities, giving each of their CSA’s a weekly number for the various share types. (Vegetable/Fruit/Flower/Egg). We start selling in January and keep selling until May 1st. Shares start to sell out in March; Early bird gets the egg—and a price reduction for early payments.
